The 2-Minute Drill?

Rape or accusations of rape are never a laughing matter. [Wait for it…]

BUT, when I read some of the quotes from the interview with parties involved in the rape allegations with disgraced Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger immediately thought, “Dramedy!”  I don’t have time or energy to lay out the entire scenario so let’s do a quick 2-minute drill, ironically enough that’s the length of time “Big Ben” apparently took to hit pay dirt.  These are direct quotes from the audio tapes recently released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations:

20 year old accuser:  “I noticed throughout the night he kind of had like a short temper,”

N-Visible Analysis – Does that mean he was quick on the draw or was “Temper” the name of his member?  You see this is the kind of clarification that would come out (so to speak) at trial.

Owner of the Club explaining the reason Ben’s bodyguard requested a private bathroom:  “to try and beat the crowd.”

N-Visible Analysis – I mean really?  So he’s admitting to trying to have sex with the entire crowd now, damn, no wonder Pittsburgh missed the playoffs last year QB1 is a nympho.  Makes me wonder what was he really doing behind the center?

Friend of accuser:  “This isn’t right. My friend is back there with Ben. She needs to come back right now… [Ben is]noticeably intoxicated…” Then she recounted what the accuser told her, “”[he] walked back to where [the accuser] was with his penis already out of his pants. She told him that they shouldn’t be doing this and that it wasn’t right.”

N-Visible Analysis:  Damn Ben, WDDDA? I’m guessing since the girls keep saying “it isn’t/wasn’t right” that Ben is a lefty.”

Quotes attributed to Ben from various people:  “I’m not down to fuck, but I like to fuck girls,” “All my bitches, take some shots…”

N-Visible Analysis: WTF was he doing?  Who was watching Ben’s back that night?

Ahhhh, It’s all coming into focus now.

  2. N-Visible Man,

Interesting take on a controversial topic.

I agree with you on the assertion that people ought not push their morals off on others. However, is morality at the heart of the reason that the media is constantly reporting on the Tiger Woods incident? I would argue that morality is but a tangential reason of the media’s affinity for the story. The real reason everyone is salivating over the story is because it’s Tiger Woods (i.e. a media icon, a celeb, a famous person). How is it that Tiger enjoys the fanfare, superstardom, popularity, and lucrative endorsements that he has? Oh yeah…the God awful media!! Were it not for the media reporting the positive things about Tiger, he would not the superstar that we know him as today. So, I want to serve notice on Tiger, and any others who feel that media is foul for reporting on his personal life. Simply put, YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE BITTER WITH THE SWEET. Put another way, IT’S A TWO WAY STREET!! For those who still don’t get it, MEDIA ATTENTION IS A DOUBLE EDGED SWORD!!” One does not have the ability to relish in the media attention when it is advantagous and shun the media attention when it is damning.

    Get over it Tiger!!

    • I don’t think the point of the “Tiger” dialogue was to chastise the media’s coverage of Tiger Woods. It was those individuals in the media judging Tiger and imposing their since of right and wrong on him that N-Visible Man was commenting on. In short, cover the story. Don’t judge the man.

      My take on Tiger:

He should have just come out and said “I’m filthy rich and I was just fuckin’ some hoes like all you in the media do in your spare time. And as for my gold diggin wife, take yo ass to the mall and shut the fuck up!”

      -Night Hawk

      • So, it’s okay for the media to report a story on Tiger, but judging him is off limits? This sounds ludicrous! Let’s be serious, the reason he enjoys the fame that he does is because the media has been judging him all along. They judged him with headlines such as “Tiger Shows His Greatness Again”, “Tiger Wins the Masters Yet Again…He Could Surpass Jack Nicklaus as the Greatest of All-Time”, etc. No one complained when they judged him in these areas. Tiger certainly didn’t complain, because he was being judged all the way to the bank by way of his huge endorsements. But now that Tiger has been caught with his pants down (pun intended) the media is barred from judging him while covering the story?? Does this sound a bit hypocritical or at best convenient?! Again, this is part of the price you pay for being famous. You can’t have the sweet and refuse the bitter when it comes!

    • Owww Ms. A-Hole …. I like’m feisty.

Just N-Visible Man and Night Hawk’s opinion that those hypocrites should stop judging Tiger. The comments you quote are not judgments, they are facts. Facts that allow him the fame and hoes.

Scream some more Ms. A-Hole, You gettin me horny.

      -Night Hawk

      • Night Hawk, please reserve your sexual fantasies for your time alone with your lubricant and the nudes pics of 12 year old girls.

The aforementioned quotes are indeed opinions (i.e. judgments). For example, some people feel that Michael Jordan is the greatest athlete ever, others argue that it’s Muhammad Ali, some say Babe Ruth, etc. Evidence could be presented for all of these athletes, but at the end of the day one can only opine (i.e. make a judgment) on who is indeed the best.

As such, while I agree that Tiger is a superb golf player, that is merely my opinion. So, as I stated before, the media has been judging Tiger all alone. He, you, and anyone else who feels that he’s being unjustly judged is a hypocrite. Gotta take the sunshine with the rain. If it’s ok for media to say, “way to hit that ball Tiger” then it should be acceptable for the media to say, “you shouldn’t have put your balls in the woman’s mouth Tiger.”

  4. “Tiger Shows His Greatness Again” and “Tiger Wins the Masters Yet Again…He Could Surpass Jack Nicklaus as the Greatest of All-Time” are not same as “Michael Jordan is the greatest athlete ever”. “Tiger SHOWS His Greatness Again” and “Tiger WINS the Masters Yet Again…He COULD Surpass Jack Nicklaus as the Greatest of All-Time” are in fact, facts. “Michael Jordan IS the greatest athlete ever” is an opinion. And if you read Night Hawk’s (and N-Visible Man’s) comments, we simply offered our opinion.

As for Night Hawks fantasy, it’s done. From the way you read, you must be 12.

  5. Ding, Ding. Round 1 is over. Thanks Ms. A Hole for setting this discussion off. But like Night Hawk correctly mentions this isn’t about the media and to be quite honest it’s not about Tiger. It’s about US as a society not being pigeonholed into social norms. I mean damn can a man or woman mess up without the commentary. TW, and all of us, have the absolute right to expect privacy in his personal life. A Hole, he did sign up to have his professional life trampled prodded and kneeded but does thar mean he can’t have a seperate personal life. Example, if your boss evaluates your job perormance and tells you that you are the best employee; can he also come to your home and tell you your performance in the bedroom is subpar? Absurd I know! Now switch your boss with you Chief Information Officer, the press or a blogger disiminating those details which have nothing to do with your on the job performance!
